The Miss Fits of Katie Boyd’s Miss Fit Club 2014-01-05T19:55:31+00:00

Juice, Juice, Baby.

I realize juicing has been around for a while, but if you’re going to ask someone about which juices to cleanse with for gluten free health – Katie Boyd is your girl. You can find her blog at http://katieboydsmissfitclub.blogspot.com. Katie is not only my best friend, my trainer and family, she is well versed in all things foodie. Her mantra? Making your body look great while keeping your taste buds entertained.

Katie has been training girls all over the country from Miss USA to Miss America, Celtics dancers, professional models and athletes for years. She started off as a pageant girl herself and knows the ropes. She was also my trainer and my sister’s (shown above) for Miss USA. Every savvy pageant girl knows, competition is really about competing with yourself but creating that best version isn’t always easy. We could talk mathematical formulas, diets or fads but Katie knows better than that. It’s about personalized health, an area that is making it big the last few years. But what about personalized nutrition? Katie meets with each girl individually and constructs a plan tailored for their specific body. It depends on which foods you react to, which you respond to and leveraging the best possible nutrients. Looking at my sisters plan vs my plan prior to competing, we were entirely different! More carbs for her, less for me, a different line up of when to eat and what to eat – each having a function and a purpose. The end goal was the same to create a clean, functioning body that represented health.

Also, her girls looking ‘good enough’ to get up on stage in a swimsuit in front of millions. (Yikes)

Making girls look their best isn’t only about beauty – but what you put into it. Her blog is beaming with useful tips & recipes for overall health. I particularly like her gluten free approach! Here are some of her feature juicing recipes for gluten-free foodies that I’ve tried and LOVE.

Remember, a total booty overhaul – starts with your dirty gut. Make it less naughty. The healthier your cilia, the better absorption of your nutrients and vitamins. Cleaner gut, cleaner life!!
